Digital Transaction Review Lead
Long Island, New York

The Digital Transaction Review Lead will report to the Digital Payments Manager and be responsible for the review and approval of all Digital Debit and Deposit exception reviews. This individual will review all high risk/ exceptions for debit card, money transfer and mRDC transactions in an effort to limit the losses to the bank and mitigate the risks associated with digital money movement services.  The Risk Review Lead will be responsible for defining the risk criteria, developing operating procedures and managing the process for reviewing and decisioning items based on defined business criteria. They will be responsible to coordinate risk reviews with the vendor partners on an ongoing basis and develop reporting and recommendations related to areas of concern or opportunities for optimization. This role will be required to monitor any system queues of transactions and contact customers as required to determine transaction validity. Additionally they will need to complete any required Potential Loss Reports (PLR’s) in accordance with bank policy. The Risk review lead will be required to make sound business decisions and escalate specific use cases or fraud trends that are emerging as well as develop recommendations for optimization for rulesets to improve the customer experience. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review mRDC deposits for consumers and business customers. Create daily reporting and data related to decisioning.
  • Decision money movement transactions that are referred for review based on digital banking rulesets.
  • Contact customers as necessary to authenticate the transaction and/or the transaction amount before approving for posting.
  • Interface with vendors to understand risk scoring models, referral thresholds and system decisions. Develop recommendations to optimize processes and leverage system intelligence for transaction processing.
  • Coordinate management reviews, at least quarterly, to understand trends, review data and approve any recommendations.
  • Escalate specific transactions or fraud trends as they emerge and ensure management awareness of potential losses.
  • Complete any potential loss reports in accordance with documented thresholds and bank policy.
  • Create, maintain and review procedures for money movement services and required review and approval processes; develop desktop guides accordingly.
  • Participate in audit and compliance reviews and risk management testing and provide necessary samplings or examples as requested; conduct front line testing as defined in CRR and ERM RCSA testing.
  • Interface with management, audit, compliance and regulators as necessary

Skills, Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or commensurate work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial services or digital banking; risk and control related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital banking platforms and money movement services (mRDC BillPay, P2P, A2A etc.).
  • Experience with customer service and customer issue escalation
  • Ability to articulate and document business processes.
  • Proven ability in making sound business decisions and investigating customer issues and concerns
  • Detail oriented and familiar with current fraud trends and emerging digital threats.
