Job Description
SEA CORP’s Electronic Warfare (EW) business area is seeking a Technical Writer. The EW business area specializes is research and development software design, test and delivery within the Department of Defense (DoD) and industry partners.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

Job Summary:
The Technical Writer will work with the Technical Program Manager (TPM) and technical staff to support program management tasks and implementation. The candidate will assist in the development of program plans, program schedules, and a variety of technical work products in support of various EW projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as liaison between customer, project manager and technical team.
  • Monitor, track and report project milestones, progress against milestones and associated project risk; highlight and manage risk and against the critical path and report findings.
  • Coordination of program meetings and reporting; capture and encourage consensus in meetings and in collaborative work products.
  • Develop process flows, Visio diagrams, and use-cases to further illustrate processes and system capabilities.
  • Develop, contribute, maintain and modify documents such as Specification Requirements Verification Matrix (SRVM), Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI), Hardware Configuration Item (HWCI), Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Interface Requirements Specification (IRS), Software Design Documents (SDD), and Performance Specifications.
  • Serve as process analyst ensuring a consistent approach to documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Work across functional areas to obtain an in-depth understanding of technical approach
  • Attend meetings during all phases of process development or documentation review to gather and document current and future processes and technical requirements; meet regularly with subject matter experts to refine understanding and documentation.
Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in any field.  Expertise in MS Word as well as a working knowledge of MS Visio (drawing creation, modification, and maintenance).   The selected candidates must have a high command of verbal and written communication skills and have a strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.  As well as the ability to be a well-organized, self-motivated, team player.

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD clearance is required.
