Job Description
SEA CORP is currently seeking a Software Engineer to work with our Newport based customer to provide Computer Based Training end products for the Navy.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

SEA CORP performs System Engineering, Systems Administration, Architectural Prototyping, Test & Evaluation (T&E), Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), Technical and Engineering Documentation Development and Program Support.


Job Summary:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for performing systems and network administration, database merge functions between like databases, and data filtering between similar but disparate databases. Tasking is to be performed within a Microsoft Windows Development environment using SQL Server. End products are Learning Management System (LMS) computer-based training that track student progress.  Some overnight travel will be required to support software installation at Naval Trainer facilities.


Education and Qualifications:
The following are desirable skills:
  • Windows systems administration
  • Windows network configuration
  • Relational Database Normalized Data design
  • SQL Query Language
  • SQL Server/SQL Server Express
  • Version Control and Configuration Management
  • Ability to become Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 1 certified
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Mathematics is required for this position. 
    • An Associate’s or Technical Degree or equivalent plus 5 years of additional specifically related experience in a field is considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
    • The advanced technical training curricula packages provided to former military personnel will be considered the equivalent of a Technical Diploma (e.g., Navy Technical Training “A” or “B” School) or associate degree (e.g., Naval Advanced Training “C” School) in the technical field of expertise.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance are required
