Job Description
SEA CORP has two openings for full-time SWFTS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) based in Manassas, VA.  The incumbents should preferably be former or transitioning Fire Control Technicians with the US Navy.

Job Summary:
SMEs in these positions will analyze requirements and develop test cases and procedures to ensure the correct integration and operation of system software in support to submarine fleets and the organization.  Additional responsibilities include:
  • Providing operational system use knowledge to the Test Engineers for NBCR assessments
  • Assisting Test Engineers in identifying risks and mitigation plans
  • Working with Test Engineers on the development and maintenance of test procedures and SOP scenarios, providing insight of subsystem use cases
  • First level troubleshooting of subsystems prior to involving an Integration/ Troubleshooting team
  • Participation in vendor meetings (program reviews, problem review boards, etc.)
  • Assisting subsystems to coordinate test bay resources between multiple subsystems
  • Assistance in execution of External Interface Test (EIT) as needed
  • Assistance in the authoring of System Level Test procedure and System Operability testing
  • Working with SWFTS Systems Engineers to understand/interpret requirement statements.
  • Test/Monitoring subsystems software longevity performance.
Candidates must also be; familiar with the SWFTS operational use/CONOPS; able to provide knowledge, guidance, and support to the team; able to understand requirements from Systems Engineers and impacts to system operation; understanding of the subsystems design plan/approach; and able to assist SWFTS SE&I in understanding testing needs, software build delivery plans, and problem investigation needs.

Education and Qualifications:
Former military experience (FT, STS, ITS, ETR, ETV) with a full understanding of US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.) preferred. In lieu of military experience, a Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field and a minimum of ten year’s professional experience working with submarines is required.

Willingness to work off-shift hours to support schedule needs at times and travel to support a variety of off-site test events is required.

U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance is required.
