POSITION DESCRIPTION
Marketing Associate

Executive Supervisor:  Director of Business Development
Location:  Madison, WI
POSITION SUMMARY:   This position is responsible for developing new relationships that will allow the team to be well positioned for partnerships and projects, both long and short-term, across multiple market sectors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work as a core member of the Marketing/Business Development team to help direct and personally implement the firm’s marketing and BD strategy.
  • Has direct contact with people of all levels, both internally and externally to further the company’s goals in each market and continue to develop relationships. 
  • Responsible for responding to requests for information and the creation of SOQ to educate potential partners on MEP’s capabilities and past work.
  • Acts as the lead person on assembling the written proposal in response to customer’s RFP, coordinates all information from the different disciplines and arranges the formal response.  Role will be directly supported by technical lead for content development to be included as part of RFP responses.
  • Responsible for locating new opportunities for the company through research of upcoming opportunities, networking with new and existing partners, creation of new relationships across multiple markets/disciplines, and strategic planning.
  • Aid in the creation and presentation of materials/PowerPoints for external use at conferences or networking meetings.
  • Acts as a MEP representative to clients and partners during the initial contact stage to forge new relationships and follow up after meetings.
  • Attends trade shows along with different conferences, both educational and customer oriented.
  • Actively participates in company initiatives and select, strategic professional organizations/associations.
  • Develop a high-level technical understanding of MEP’s capabilities to share with clients and partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications
  • Preferred work experience in Engineering or Architecture
  • Microsoft office proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Adobe Suite proficient (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
TRAVEL
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. This position requires up to 10-15% travel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required
  • This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday,8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
