Job Summary: SEA CORP, located in Middletown, RI, is a growing company seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to work with the NUWC Newport team to provide Computer Based Training end products for the Navy. SEA CORP performs System Engineering, Systems Administration, Architectural Prototyping, Test & Evaluation (T&E), Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), Technical and Engineering Documentation Development, and Program Support. The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for performing systems administration supporting CM activities. These include media production and verification, development and maintenance of build procedures for installing the media, software administration including the application of security patches, and subsequent related testing and verification. The qualified applicant will be tasked to perform information assurance assessment, tracking and vulnerability remediation, as well as maintaining an accounting of system hardware configurations, operating system and patch levels, information assurance settings, and network connections. Some overnight travel will be required to support software installation at Naval Trainer facilities.
Education and Skills: The following are desirable skills:
Ability to become Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 1 certified
Linux Systems Administration, knowledge of rpm and software installation, operating system imaging
Network Configuration within Linux and Cisco IOS
Virtualization, particularly Red Hat KVM
Inventory Management / Database, Excel Skills
Software Configuration Management, Clearcase
Process Oriented - ISO, CMM or equivalent process knowledge
A Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Computer Information Systems preferred) and a minimum of 3 years of experience is required for this position. An Associate’s Degree or equivalent plus 5 years of additional specifically-related experience in a field is considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree. The advanced technical training curricula packages provided to former military personnel will be considered the equivalent of a Technical Diploma (e.g., Navy Technical Training “A” or “B” School) or Associate’s Degree (e.g., Naval Advanced Training “C” School) in the technical field of expertise.
U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance are required.
