Job Summary & Requirements:
Come demonstrate your innovation and problem solving skills within a latest technology Red Hat Linux development environment!   SEA CORP has an immediate opening for a DevOps Engineer to meet the needs of our Capability Development Team (CDT). The DevOps Engineer will apply a diverse set of skills to support the existing unclassified and classified development infrastructure at NUWC Division Newport. 
The DevOps engineer will incorporate innovation to advance the abstraction of software applications within an Object Oriented design paradigm and the de-coupling of operating system and hardware platforms using virtualization and container technologies, applying the best-fit approach for each specific purpose.
The wide variety of skills sought are listed below.  Experience within a subset of these areas is desirable.  Enthusiasm and passion to master each is a must!
  • Linux systems administration (i.e. sysadmin)
    • Be able to build, manage, and troubleshoot Linux workstations and servers
    • LPIC-2 certification (or equivalent) required
    • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) desired
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) desired
  • Virtualization, especially Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVM)
    • Be familiar with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV), oVirt (or equivalent) virtualization management platform and converged infrastructure (i.e. clusters)
  • Application sandboxing, especially with Linux containers
    • Be familiar with Docker, Flatpak, and container orchestration (e.g. Docker Compose, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Networking
    • Be familiar with network-based authentication, firewall management and installing and configuring network services
  • Dynamic Name Server (DNS)
  • Secure Shell (SSH)
  • Web server (e.g. Apache HTTPd)
  • Network file share (NFS)
  • Samba
  • Programming
    • Shell scripting, especially with Bourne Again Shell (BASH)
  • Python
  • Knowledge of other language desired (e.g. C/C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
  • Configuration management
    • Cross-compile Make (CMake) build environment
    • Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) generation
    • Be familiar with Git and source control tools (e.g. GitLab, BitBucket, etc.), Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins, puppet, etc.), and automated software test tools (e.g. Selenium, eggplant, etc.)
  • Security
    • Be familiar with Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) and applying patches/updates to Linux systems
Education and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a field concentration in Computer Science is required for these positions.  Experience performing in areas described is highly desirable.

The advanced technical training curricula packages provided to former military personnel will be considered equivalent of a Technical diploma (e.g. Navy Technical Training “A” or “B” school) or Associate’s Degree (e.g. Naval Advanced Training “C” School) in the technical field of expertise. An Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) plus 5 years of additional specifically related experience is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.

U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance are required.
