Job Title: Fitness Center - Fitness Trainer
FLSA Status:  Non-exempt, part-time (as-needed)
Job Location: York, PA

Job Summary: The Lifestyle Center is an on-site Occupational Health setting utilizing a multidisciplinary approach through Medical, Rehab and Fitness programs providing Occupational Health and Wellness to employees and contractors to reduce injuries and illnesses and promote wellness through a holistic approach. The Fitness Center Trainer will conduct group classes and implement Fitness programs. Delivery of services to include health and fitness management, work conditioning, and general fitness center duties.
Primary Duties:
  • On-site staffing in Milwaukee, York and KC
  • Perform general administrative functions in accordance with the Harley-Davidson Program scope
  • Facilitate aspects of member engagement
    • Orientations to facilities and program amenities and options
    • Conduct fitness assessments per the Harley-Davidson Program design (e.g., height, weight, body composition, muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance)
    • One on One sessions regarding Personal Profiles and Exercise Plans
  • Assist with the design of individualized fitness programs
  • Assist with the design of group programs, challenges
  • Supervision of exercise and activity areas (especially during peak times)
  • Conduct group class programs
  • Implement offered targeted health improvement programming – personal training, massage therapy, walking programs
  • Conduct the Work-Conditioning program
  • Monitor usage of the fitness center and ensure that users comply with all rules and regulations
  • Assist Harley-Davidson with the management of variable program and facility related supply items and services as provided by Harley-Davidson – office supplies, towel service, locker room amenities
  • Assist in maintaining a complete inventory of equipment and supplies belonging to or in control of Harley-Davidson
  • Assist in maintaining the center in a safe, clean and sanitary manner during hours of operation.  All administrative and general exercise areas will be kept clean and free of obstacles
  • Notify Harley-Davidson of damaged or missing equipment and/or components
  • Communicate weekly with Lead to ensure workflow is successful
  • Immediately report customer and or participant concerns to lead
  • Work with other team members in the rehab and medical center including nurses, athletic trainers and case managers as required
  • Provide flexible schedule which may not be limited to early mornings and or late evening to service all HD employee needs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Preferred degree in exercise science/kinesiology/fitness/Athletic Trainer with minimum certification in personal training
  • CPR certification and first aid and or Healthcare BLS
  • Demonstrated experience in running fitness programs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years’ experience highly preferred

Practical Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in musculoskeletal knowledge
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting wellness and personal training sessions

Work Environment: On-site Fitness Center in an industrial setting.  Steel Toed Safety Shoes required. Hearing Protection may be required depending upon site.  Safety Glasses required.

                Able to lift 35 lbs. 
                Walk quickly to shop floor to manage emergencies carrying emergency equipment

Other Duties:
                Flexible hours as needed for business purposes – may require weekends
                Occasional Travel
