Job Description
Job Summary:
The Ship Alteration (SHIPALT) / Temporary Alteration (TEMPALT) Development Business Area is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and integration of new shipboard systems on a variety of US Navy submarine and surface ship classes. As part of these duties, the applicant will be expected to develop end-to-end signal and system drawings, assist in both the analysis and engineering drawing development for system wide signal distribution, development of intra- and intersystem cabling diagrams, test and certify system hardware, system interface / interaction identification and development of Government Furnished Information (GFI) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).  Selection of MILSPEC and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) materials as warranted.  Review and creation of Ship Change Installation Drawings (SIDs).  Interfacing with peer Electrical, Mechanical and Software engineers with some oversight, but should be self-driven with desire to take on responsibility and accountability for workmanship and product deadlines.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Education – Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate would be team oriented, and personable. Knowledge and/or experience with operation, test, planning and installation of Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems for Virginia, Los Angeles, Seawolf, and Ohio class submarines and familiarity, and/or working knowledge of Delta power design, RF distribution, sweep equipment, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and RF Groom & Certification Program Skills are desired but not required.

Travel to various naval stations to support system installation and ship checks is project dependent but would be expected of the engineer.


U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD clearance is required.
