About the University of Northern Colorado

Founded in 1889 as the state teachers’ college, today the University of Northern Colorado boasts more than 100 undergraduate and 100-plus graduate programs of study offered by five colleges that include a nationally recognized business school, innovative health and human science programs, and award-winning theater arts and teacher education programs, all supported by a cornerstone curriculum in the humanities and social sciences.
 

Values, Purposes and Goals

The University provides services that support equal learning opportunities for all students. Learning occurs in an environment characterized by small classes taught by full-time faculty. UNC faculty, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, subscribe to a teacher/scholar model in which excellence in instruction is complemented by activities in scholarship and service. Support for the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, scholarship and service is provided through University programs, policies and practices.
 

Our Town, Greeley

Greeley is a friendly community less than an hour’s drive from Denver, firmly rooted in Colorado life and recreation. With a population of about 100,000, and a vibe that is eclectic and wholly unique, Greeley offers limitless outdoor recreation; art, music and community events; and a range of shopping and restaurants for every interest and appetite.
