Company Overview
Northfield Public Schools offers an exceptional educational experience, rooted in our vision to prepare every student for lifelong success by developing critical thinkers who are curious and ready to engage in our society. We are a welcoming community that strives to ensure every student is known, valued, and supported. With a strong tradition of academic excellence, our schools consistently perform among the top in the state, offering innovative programs in STEM, the arts, Spanish immersion, and college and career readiness.

The district serves Northfield, northern Rice, and southern Dakota counties with three elementary schools, a middle school (grades 6-8), a high school and an alternative high school. An exten
sive community education and recreation program includes Early Childhood Family Education, childcare and preschool options, a school-age care program and community school at all three elementary schools, adult basic education, GED testing, and both youth and adult enrichment opportunities.

Overwhelming approval of the Reimagine Northfield High School bond referendum in 2024 will provide a complete update of the high school facility starting in the summer of 2026, including a 120,000 square-foot multi-story classroom addition, an expanded gymnasium addition, renovation of the existing building, and a new HVAC system powered by geothermal technology.

Students can choose from a variety of advanced placement and honors-level courses as well as elective courses that include music options such as orchestra, band, and choir; visual arts classes; and hands-on programs in agricultural education, animal science, culinary arts, and other career and technical education (CTE) fields. Through partnerships with Minnesota State University Mankato, Carleton College, and St. Olaf College, students can also earn college credits via concurrent enrollment programs.

Approximately 85% of high school students participate in co-curricular activities, enhancing their educational journey. The district also supports students through initiatives like the TORCH program, aimed at increasing college access for underrepresented groups.

With a 96% graduation rate, our district demonstrates a strong commitment to student success across all demographics. Students benefit from high expectations, a safe and inclusive environment, and dedicated educators who foster curiosity, creativity, and character. From our award-winning early childhood programs to our blue-ribbon middle school and nationally recognized high school, the Northfield community takes great pride in the exemplary educational system it has built and invites you to join us in using your talents to make a difference in our students' lives.
