Exploring what’s possible, for our clients and our communities
Fuss and O'Neill provides the solutions that clients need for their specialized projects. We provide the same focus and expertise to small, straightforward, single-discipline projects as we do to large, complex, multi-discipline ones. Headquartered in Manchester, CT and founded in 1924, the company has grown to include ten regional offices, one LLC and over 320 employees. Our professional staff maintains licenses and certifications across a wide range of engineering, planning, landscape architecture, design build, scientific and manufacturing disciplines.
Fuss & O’Neill traces its roots to 1924 as a local survey practice founded by Hayden Griswold, Sr. Growth in the 1960s and 1970s added expertise in land development, transportation, structures, water and sewer systems, and water resources. In 1971 the firm became Griswold & Fuss, and then Fuss & O’Neill in the late 1970s. The early 1980s saw expansion into emerging fields of environmental compliance and permitting, and site assessment and remediation. Today the company continues to expand its expertise as engineering innovation and technological advances unfold.
You would think the 40 hours we spend together each week would be enough. Turns out – it’s not. Whether it’s a Thursday night softball game, deep sea fishing, or anything involving food, we actually enjoy spending time together. Each office has an Employee Committee member that organizes events both in and out of the office – everything from baseball games to dragon boat races to camping and picnics (we really are food-driven). Our Corporate Citizenship group takes us further into local communities, whether it be replenishing food banks, building homes, or working with schools. Whatever the event, we are in it together!
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) provides awareness of and support for the advancement employees from historically disadvantaged groups at Fuss & O’Neill. It also serves to advance a culture that makes Fuss & O’Neill a best place to work.
Since its inception in 2018, the Committee has created a Working Caregiver Task Force that facilitated improvements to policy and benefits to support the work/life balance for those who care for children and elders. With our corporate commitment to equity, we continue to foster the advancement of employees from historically disadvantaged groups.
Whether you’re a new grad, mid-level professional, or an industry veteran, we’re happy you’re here! With offices in every New England state and California, plus a wide range of professions and career paths, opportunities abound. Check out our current openings and join us!
