Who we are

Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. was founded in 1967 to serve the utility industry on contracts such as substations, distribution systems, underground installations and high voltage transmission lines.  The company was incorporated in the State of Kansas in1970 and expanded into the street lighting and traffic signal markets in the late 70s.  Capital Electric has been a union contractor since their inception and is an active member of NECA, the National Electrical Contractors Association.

Capital Electric was purchased in January 2001 by MDU Resources Group, Inc. Some corporate realignment in 2005 resulted in the addition of a branch office in Dayton, Ohio which primarily provides signal and lighting services in southwest Ohio.
