Overview

LMI is seeking an Acquisition/Contracting Policy Research Analyst to support the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Acquisition) Defense Pricing and Contracting (DPC) customer.  LMI supports DPC with pricing and contracting policy matters across the Department of Defense (DoD) including the timely update of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) and issuance of memoranda and guidance.

This position can be supported remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform contracting statutory and regulatory research and complex administrative support functions.
  • Assist Government personnel with research of current contract rulemaking cases and origin of regulations for contracting. 
  • Research the impact of current information collection requirements, verify need for the information, consolidate data, and construct a Paperwork Reduction Act package.
  • Investigate how prospective changes will affect contract regulations and assist with formatting regulation number changes.
  • Prepare and proofread formal staffed packages.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers and actions, and update the staff when necessary.
  • Prepare briefings as appropriate.
  • Manage multiple assignments from multiple people in busy work environment.

Qualifications

  • Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • At least 15 years of work experience, preferably with DoD
  • Skilled researcher with advanced knowledge of, and hands-on experience using, Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (title 48 Code of Federal Regulations, chapters 1 and 2)
  • Experience as a Contracting Officer highly desired
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities
