Description/Job Summary

• PACK FINISH GOODS TO CORRECT PROCEDURE

• VARIOUS HAND TOOLS

• PERFORM THREAD UP

• ADJUST CORE PLACEMENT

• WINDER / TAPE MACHINE KNOWLEDGE

• LIFTING PRODUCT, MATERIALS, AND SUPPLIES AS NEEDED

• PERFORM OTHER DUTIES DEEMED NECESSARY BY OPERATION COORDINATOR

• OVERTIME PER OPERATION COORDINATOR

• ATTEND ALL SAFETY MEETINGS

• P.P.E (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT)

• HOUSEKEEPING

• REPORT DIRECTLY TO SECTION MANAGER

• FOLLOW AND SUPPORT ALL PLANT AND SITE SAFETY RULES

Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.
Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.



Responsibilities/Duties

Packer: Position Grade A

  • Comply with all written and verbal safety rules
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping
  • Understand all charting instructions
  • Make end boards
  • Run horizontal/vertical packing crane (Manual or radio control)
  • Packing supplies (check that the Material Handler has all needed supplies for packaging product)
  • Comply with Plant Safety Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Troubleshoot all areas of packing
  • Training new personnel
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required

Packer: Position Grade B

  • Comply with all written and verbal safety rules

Preferred Skills

Packer: Position Grade A

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Up to 50lb. lifting Maximum
  • Minimum one year experience in Slitter Department
  • P.C. knowledge
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Packer A to complete "B" level task

Packer: Position Grade B

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Up to 50lb. lifting Maximum
  • Minimum one year experience in Slitter Department
  • P.C. knowledge
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Packer B to complete "C" level task

Packer: Position Grade C

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Up to 50lb. lifting Maximum

Preferred Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent
