Training and Development Specialist

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Training and Development Specialist for its manufacturing factory in Crystal Springs, MS.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Human Resources, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement, in designing and developing training materials.

  • Collaborate with factory leaders, support functions, and the direct workforce to identify training needs.

  • Ensure training implementation is aligned to standards and expectations as set by the Hub Training & Development Manager.

  • Assist in execution of training plans where appropriate.

  • Update and maintaining training information and records within a learning management system or equivalent.

  • Work with subject matter experts to produce effective training materials using adult learning methodologies.

  • Develop the capabilities of line trainers in delivering effective training.

  • Facilitate training related to the training function (i.e., Train-the-Trainer)

  • Consult and partner with HR to improve on-boarding training program design for the workforce.

  • Become a Lean Management System expert to support and coach these tools and processes for improving workforce capabilities.

  • Utilize Lean Management system tools to drive business excellence at all levels of the organization.

  • Research effective teaching methods and apply them to continuously improve facilitation skills.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology, Organizational Development, Education Technology, Communications, Instructional Design OR

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in instructional design include administering and evaluating training programs

  • 10+ years experience as an effective facilitator/coach (direct workforce training preferred)

  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral, to all levels of employees and management teams.

  • Knowledge of various instructional modalities and approaches to ensure all types of learners are engaged.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and authoring tools.

  • Professional training and development certification is a plus (e.g., CPTD, CPTM, CLS, etc. through organizations like ATD, Training Industry, AIHR, BHG, etc.)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. No Sponsorship.
