POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Project Overview:

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has a continuing requirement for Facilities Operations and Maintenance Support Services (FOMSS).

 

Position Overview:

The Systems Engineering Manager will manage the systems engineering staff and may provide cost estimates to support facility condition assessments and BAS-related duties. System Engineers will monitor equipment and system performance, report system status to FMO personnel, and initiate actions to resolve operational deficiencies, improve performance, increase reliability, and improve energy efficiency.

 

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

 

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Oversee the system engineers monitoring of equipment and system performance.
  • Report system status to FMO personnel.
  • Initiate actions to resolve operational deficiencies, improve performance, increase reliability, and improve energy efficiency.
  • Provide cost estimates to support facility condition assessments and BAS-related duties.
  • Participate in discipline, project, and program level reviews as necessary, to include but not limited to presenting results, issues, reviewing documents and working on issues as they arise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in aerospace, electrical, computer engineering or mechanical engineering or related field is required.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering
  • Hands on experience utilizing/applying a system engineering process.
  • Experience working on an integrated project team using systems engineering, and project management processes
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Self motivated, team player familiar with working in a dynamic work environment.
