James Madison University’s Facilities Management Department is accepting applications for multiple Temporary Summer Landscape Workers. Work is 20-40 hours per week starting as early as April 29th and going as late as August 16th, 2024. Typical work schedule is Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., with some flexibility allowed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General landscape duties include weed-eating, watering, weeding, planting, mulching, trimming and possibly turf maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work predominately outdoors in extreme weather temperatures and conditions.
• Must be 15 years of age or older as of the start date.
• Landscape experience is helpful but not necessary.

Conditions of Employment:  

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
