Summary

  • The Medical Assistant (MA) position will support two steady, busy surgical oncology practices for breast care and thoracic oncology. Colleague will be required to be knowledgeable of MA workflow in both clinics for ability to float between practices, depending on clinic staffing needs. 

    The MA will be knowledgeable in front and back- office duties (clinical and administrative) and will include: rooming patients; answering phones; processing insurance authorizations, scanning, etc.

    Clinic hours are 8:00a-4:30pm.  Some flexibility with occasional partial shift hours.

  • Position Summary
    • The Medical Assistant (MA) is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant II functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
    • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire required. An NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
    • Experience: 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or 6 months of experience and certification required.
