Job Summary
Assist with accounting, financial and clerical administration within the Department of Biological Sciences.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
  • Assisting with purchasing card reconciliation (approximately 500 transactions totaling ~$100,000 per month)
  • Preparing travel expense vouchers, e-vendor vouchers, and other financial transactions.
  • Assisting in advising faculty and staff on standard practices and procedures regarding travel and purchasing cards.
  • Organizing, processing, and coding documents for financial transactions.
  • Administrative and clerical tasks in the operations of the graduate program
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
Four year degree in accounting or finance. Experience in accounting and/or financial reporting. Experience with Auburn University policies and procedures.
