Position Overview:

The Traveling Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering concrete and maintaining the truck as required. The Traveling Dump Truck Driver is a full-time, seasonal position that requires regular travel and overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner
  • Perform maintenance on assigned trucks and other equipment as required
  • Complete pre and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as needed
  • Record any maintenance issues in the truck logbook and ensure the supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns
  • The process required paperwork throughout the day (time reporting, truck reports, scale tickets)
  • Visually inspect mix for proper materials, verify load size to the ticket, check for the proper slump, and adjust accordingly
  • Deliver concrete using the most efficient route as directed by dispatcher or Plant Manager
  • Must clean out the box, fuel truck, clean truck, and complete end of day truck inspection
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Record request
  • Class B CDL
  • Mechanical background and skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms
