Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician/Assistant to support and assist scientist and engineering personnel in performing Test & Evaluation (T&E) of military expeditionary support equipment and airfield ground equipment to ensure operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness at Eglin AFB, FL. 

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in test and evaluation, to include the below essential duties:

  • Provides general assistance to scientific and engineering personnel as part of the T&E process.
  • Prepares routine internal reports and procedures related to work function.
  • Utilizes computer terminals to formulate files, to chart, collect, and plot data.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains basic mechanical and electrical test equipment.
  • Inventories equipment items and stages items for tests.
  • Records calibration records and prepares instruments for calibration.
  • Provides technical advice to the customer to assist in creating and implementing programmatic and policy decisions.
  • Assists in employing appropriate technology in the development and deployment of major systems.
  • Takes a lead role in the following aspects of the T&E process: logistics support, shipping, vehicle support, test facility operations and maintenance, environmental impact statement processing, supply management, equipment purchasing, safety, operational risk management, and security.
  • Works as part of a team to set up, tear down, and operate T&E articles, instrumentation, and test fixtures is required. This includes occasional heavy manual labor.
  • Ensures the readiness of all support equipment and supplies necessary for scheduled T&E event.

 

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma is required.

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience and has achieved the proficiency normally expected of specialized technical expertise in the acquisition industry.  Relevant experience includes but is not limited to: Test & Evaluation, power production, mechanical systems, instrumentation use and calibration, military expeditionary equipment, airfield operations, heavy equipment operation, facility management, and technical writing.
