Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor-Production, Building Products is responsible for keeping the production floor operating, delegating job tasks, and resolving employee issues and concerns. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment while maintaining quality and production of products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Management of assigned shift
  • Prioritize problems that occur
  • Assignment of operators on machines
  • Lead employees on assigned shift
  • Assist Maintenance when issues arise
  • Handle and resolve personnel issues and concerns
  • Handle disciplinary actions with employees
  • Responsible to track attendance for employees on assigned shift
  • Make decisions to provide a safe working environment
  • Delegation of tasks as necessary
  • Responsible for housekeeping

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Basic keyboarding abilities
  • Must possess mechanical skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task effectively
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Good analytical skills and attentive to detail
  • Proven skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Must possess excellent math skills
  • Must maintain a clean hi-lo safety/accident record
  • Must properly use all safety equipment

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or 1 - 2 years' experience in functional role

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Prolong standing on concrete or in stationary position for up to eight hours per workday
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (Hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities and in and out of equipment
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
  • Must tolerate oil, grease, dust and occasional fumes
  • Must be able to bend or twist
