Position Summary

Albemarle Corporation is seeking a Global Analytical Program Manager to lead our global efforts in harmonization and standardization of analysis methods for our key lithium products. This role will be based in our Charlotte headquarters or Kings Mountain site and will involve travel to other lithium manufacturing sites both domestically and internationally. This job is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly growing industry that is impacting the global future of energy. This position will report to the Analytical Technology Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage analytical projects for manufacturing process development, improvement, and external customer support.
  • Lead efforts to harmonize and validate analytical methodologies across our global manufacturing sites.
  • Lead method standardization efforts according to international regulatory bodies.
  • Develop implementation plans for best practices and processes.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with chemists around the world.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures and standardization methods.
  • Provide technical expertise when needed.
  • Maintain excellence in safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technical acumen in multiple analytical chemistry techniques particularly in method development.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning and execution.
  • Good understanding of statistical analysis for evaluation of analytical methods
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to travel to the other Albemarle US and international sites, as needed (about 25%).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to work with a team of people with diverse backgrounds.

Education and Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience with another scientific degree (chemistry is still preferred).
