The Opportunity

The College of Aviation (COA) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean, School of Engineering, located at Embry-Riddle's Worldwide Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida. The College seeks a dynamic academic leader who will partner with college leadership, faculty, and others in prioritizing, developing, and evaluating the activities related to the introduction and sustainability of engineering and engineering technology-related programs within the College of Aviation at the Worldwide Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

The Worldwide College of Aviation offers, in addition to several aeronautics- and aviation-related degrees, the following engineering and engineering technology degrees, managed through the School of Engineering: A.S. in Engineering Fundamentals, B.S. in Engineering Technology, B.S. in Engineering, Master of Systems Engineering, M.S. in Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Engineering, M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, and M.S. in Airworthiness Engineering, with more planned for the future. The A.S. in Engineering Fundamentals, B.S. in Engineering Technology and B.S. in Engineering have been recently accredited by ABET. The Worldwide campus has an enrollment of over 20,000 students, delivering courses globally online, synchronously to both homes and classrooms, and face-to-face at over 120 locations around the world. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering will be responsible for leading full-time and adjunct faculty with the development of strategic partnerships with other ERAU components, the aerospace industry, and academic and government research organizations; supporting the work of the Engineering Advisory Board and the COA Advisory Board; identifying and facilitating joint research activities with other COA and Worldwide non-engineering organizations and programs; and serving on the college's leadership team participating fully in its strategic budgeting, planning, and management processes.

Position and Application Requirements

This is a senior-level position in the College, requiring a doctorate in engineering or related field from an accredited academic program. Professional credentials should support an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor within the COA.
