Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time Wic Project Nutritionist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for implementation of all nutrition and food package policies and procedures in the Wisconsin WIC Operations Manual.
  2. Supervises, trains, and evaluates WIC Nutrition staff including the WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator.
  3. Monitors the WIC Nutrition staff’s counseling and documentation skills and ensures nutrition assessments are completed according to WIC policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  4. Provides oversight to all nutrition-related activities in the WIC clinic to ensure they are culturally appropriate, participant centered, and follow current, evidence-based recommendations.
  5. Serves as a preceptor for dietetic and dietetic technician students and interns or oversees precepting activities assigned to appropriate WIC Nutritionist.
  6. In collaboration with WIC Director, ensures required annual training is provided to all WIC staff.
  7. Maintains documentation of Nutrition and Breastfeeding staff’s continuing education requirements.
  8. Collaborates with external programs to enhance services and resources for WIC participants.
  9. Participates fully in the WIC Management Evaluation, including pre-visit preparation and responding to findings. Analyzes and evaluates results of Management Evaluations.
  10. Attends required agency and WIC sponsored state and regional meetings as appropriate and incorporates information learned into WIC project services.  
  11. Resides on WIC and/or SSCHC committees and workgroups as appropriate.
  12. Facilitates nutrition and breastfeeding staff meetings.
  13. Promote program integrity by assisting WIC Director with program fraud and abuse prevention.
  14. Completes certifications, mid-certifications, and nutrition education in order to keep abreast of participant needs, WIC policies and procedures and to ensure adequate service coverage at all times.
  15. Performs hemoglobin and blood lead testing as well as participant weighing and measuring in order to keep abreast of policies and procedures and to ensure adequate service coverage at all times.
  16. Oversees the development, implementation and modification of nutrition and health education materials, media messaging, lesson plans, classes, and nutrition staff continuing education per State WIC policies.
  17. Analyze ROSIE reports and other available data to coordinate nutrition services, plans and policies.
  18. In conjunction with WIC Director, provide support/maintenance of clinic equipment.

Qualifications:
  1. Registered Dietitian and must maintain RD credential during time of employment.
  2. Minimum of one year working within WIC, additional maternal or child nutrition experience desirable.
  3. Coursework in program management, public health and nutrition preferred.
  4. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  7. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
