The Engineering Fundamentals Department in the College of Engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida is seeking to fill several Visiting Assistant Professor positions. The department seeks a candidate who can contribute to the department's expertise in teaching first and second year engineering courses.

Primary responsibility will be teaching. Assigned teaching workload will be 4 + 4. Typical class size is 24 students. Service and research are not responsibilities for this position.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a master's degree in engineering and preference will be given to candidates who hold a terminal degree in engineering education. Candidates must be capable of teaching one or more first or second year general engineering courses, specifically Engineering Graphics (with experience with CATIA or SolidWORKS), and Introduction to Engineering Design. Additional courses taught in the department include Introductory Computer Programming (via MATLAB), Spatial Visualization, and Introduction to Problem Solving with Engineering Applications.

We seek candidates who will be active in the college and collaborate across the disciplines within the College of Engineering and the University. The faculty candidate will be joining a diverse and collegial team of faculty in the Engineering Fundamentals Department. We teach innovative engineering courses using evidence-based instruction, as well as conduct research to expand the boundaries of the emerging field of engineering education.
