Fulltime Railroad Technical Specialist- Remote

Benesch is hiring a Technical Specialist to join our talented Rail team. As a Railroad Technical Specialist, you can develop and manage custom web-based project management applications in one of Benesch's largest and fastest-growing divisions by performing, documenting, and preparing Railroad analyses and investigation reports!

The Impact You Will Have:
  • Developing and managing software tools using Quickbase, AWS, ArcGIS Enterprise & Portal, SQL Server, and related applications.
  • Developing and maintaining mapping and data services for internal and external users.
  • Assisting with coordination, development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and training for web-based workflows and best practices.
  • Providing web-based software expertise and support to organizational staff and project teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, superiors, vendor representatives, and clients.
  • Analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and making sound, well-structured recommendations.
  • Working with various skilled staff from other departments or outside clients.
  • Explaining web-based software-related technical issues and concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Planning, managing, and implementing web-based software projects; assessing progress and making appropriate corrections to keep projects on track.
What We Are Looking For
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field.
  • Experience in Railroad Project Management operations preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a web-based software administrator or similar position with professional-level experience in the design, development, implementation, and administration of geographic information systems, including analysis and database development and integration.
  • Familiarity with Quickbase, AWS, Salesforce, DocuSign, Autodesk, and Bentley core products preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with HTML, JavaScript, and python preferred
  • Understand emerging web-based technologies and their application to improve services.
