Job Summary: The HVAC Technician will work on the client site in the Somerville area and perform field service maintenance and remedial and emergency repairs on telecommunication and data center HVAC equipment. This position will be performed on one site daily, no daily travel required to other sites. Equipment consists of Liebert, Data Air, Marvair, Bard, Carrier, Trane, and glycol systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems
*Perform routine preventative maintenance
*Respond to emergency service requests
*Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Minimal Qualifications:
*Must have MA Refrigeration License
*HVAC Trade School Degree preferred with current valid EPA certification.
*5+ years of experience in HVAC service and repair.
*Serve on a rotating on call team to respond to emergency calls.
*Valid current driver's license and driving record that meets company standards required
*Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate & pass a drug and alcohol screen
Skills:
*Professional communication skills.
*Ability to read and understand schematics, diagnostic skills on basic refrigeration and electronic control circuits utilizing latest monitoring tools and dexterity to repair field problems
*Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation, reporting and commentary, which accurately reflect field conditions
*Capable of being self-managed, independent, and have positive attitude.
*Understanding of telecommunications and data center operations
*Strong aptitude to learn new technologies and systems
*Basic computer skills required
Physical demands:
The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires persistent repetitive movements of the hands, wrists and fingers and the ability to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds occasionally, and be able to kneel, and bend.
