Job Description

Geosyntec is growing in the Boca Raton, Florida area and we are looking for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist to support site assessment, remediation, and due diligence practices in the Boca Raton, Florida office. Our ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience on these types of projects, particularly working with private clients (such as attorneys and developers). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting projects involving site assessment and remediation in accordance with Chapter 62-780, FAC and Miami-Dade County Chapter 24
  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historic research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments;
  • Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); and
  • Providing litigation support services, including related to hazardous waste and material management.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 40%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology). (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.) (preferred) or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment and remediation. (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Detailed Federal and California regulatory knowledge, especially RCRA and EPCRA. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
