The Product Manager has overall end-to-end responsibility for the product portfolio, starting from product planning, product development and delivery, marketing, and sales, by working with internal and external stakeholders. The Product manager has overall P&L responsibility for the product portfolio.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the definition and execution of the product strategy and roadmap for a new consumer focused product in the consumer industry. Lead the development of product level requirements, competitive analysis and positioning, tradeoff analysis and recommendation, and prioritization of key features and capabilities driving prioritization.
Lead and help develop a vision and roadmap for the product, based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight. Manage the product throughout its lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
Write Product Requirements and Market Requirements documents. Write the business case for investments and gain internal approval
Work closely with Development/Engineering and other teams internally and externally to deliver products that align with this vision, meet market needs and deliver to a consistently high-quality standard
Identify the key benefits and value of products. This will be used to create and maintain marketing plans and collateral (including web updates, product training materials and sales training). Educate and evangelize business priorities and priority changes to the cross functional working teams
Run trials and MVPs, develop, and deliver go to market launch plans
Develop an overall sales forecast for the product based on input from marketing, sales, market analysts and their own experience, and manage its delivery.
Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish partnerships by working with sales and marketing
Be the recognized expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology, and the competition.
Set pricing. Help Brief analysts and the press.
Channel management and support by working closely with Sales/Marketing
Represent the voice of the customer in senior level management meetings
Deliver a regular (e.g., monthly) volume, revenue, and profit forecasts
EDUCATION
BA or BS degree or equivalent related experience
Advanced degree desirable
Requirements:
A passion for technology, invention, and innovation
Demonstrated understanding of the product lifecycle from concept, through development, launch, support, and end of life
Good understanding of the consumer, gaming, and lifestyle industries
Strong communication skills including verbal and written communication, the willingness to discuss questions or uncertainties in job assignments and to be able to positively interact with co-workers
Demonstrated understanding of product and technology readiness levels
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain organizations
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to empathize with customer challenges
A bias to action with an ability to be flexible and resourceful, with a "figure it out and get it done" mentality
Ability to methodically manage a variety of competing requirements, needs, and interests in a fast-paced environment
BA or BS degree or equivalent related experience preferably with a technical or scientific focus
