Job Description

The Fixed Assets Special (Level I) is accountable for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets,tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, accounting for the disposition, retirements and transfers of fixed assets, generating fixed assets reports and responsible to ensure accounting practices are aligned to corporate policies, IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as applicable.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Tasks

  • Update & maintain the fixed assets register to ensure data is accurate and complete.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions, retirements, dispositions and transfers in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to "Assets Held for Sale", impairments and accelerated depreciation.
  • Run monthly settlements process to move cost from expenditure accounts to CIP.
  • Post monthly depreciation using SAP
  • Assist with posting capitalized interest as needed.
  • Assist with posting manual depreciation entries for fixed assets as needed
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations for fixed assets related accounts as needed
  • Assist with monthly rollforwards by reporting regions for both GAAP & IFRS locations as needed
  • Set up Authority For Expenditures (AFE).
  • Run analytics to verify the useful lives and salvage values of assets
  • Prepare and assist with SOX Control schedules and supporting documentation for review by manager.
  • Assist with preparing schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist with inquiries from internal & external auditors.
  • Assist Sr. Fixed Assets Accountant with journal entries , reports and reconciliations as needed
  • Ad Hoc requests, schedules and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Must have 1 to 3 years of experience, preferably in the energy services industry
  • ERP General Ledger accounting experience, preferably SAP
  • Experience in working with legal entities and foreign currencies across international locations, preferred
  • US GAAP/IFRS experience preferred, specifically pertaining to fixed assets
  • Experience working in a global, international organization

Skills:

  • Computer literacy including MS office, strong Excel skills
  • ERP General Ledger accounting experience, preferably SAP
  • Can-do positive attitude
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to take responsibility to resolve problems/queries effectively.
  • Good team player; willingness to assist/ cover other team members as required and have an approachable attitude.
  • Adopts a proactive approach to managing work with high standard of customer delivery.
