Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:

HDR's Traffic Project Manager in Dallas will: participate in growing the local traffic program, helping develop and meet financial goals, and support the area marketing plan; participate as part of a group of professionals engaged in transportation planning, traffic engineering analysis, data analytics, project development, and community planning activities; establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings; develop traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal timing plans, microscopic simulation modeling, and macroscopic simulation modeling; prepare plans, specifications, and estimates documents including signing and striping, traffic signals, illumination, and Intelligent Traffic Systems for various state and local agencies; coordinate workload throughout entire project development and track financial aspects of projects, project budgeting, and schedule; work closely with the Area Manager, Transportation Business Group Manager, Transportation Program Manager, Section Managers, and multiple Project Managers for project reviews; and provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and staff members.

Required Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 3 years' experience in traffic engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years' experience in traffic engineering.
  • Must hold Professional Engineer license (from any US jurisdiction) or have passed the Professional Engineer licensing examination.
  • Required experience may include professional or internship experience and must include experience in: traffic operational analysis; traffic projects for Departments of Transportation and/or other government agencies; Texas Department of Transportation standards and specifications; industry standards NTCIP, NEMA, IEEE, and NEC; simulation and modeling tools Synchro, VISSIM, Visum, SimTraffic, HCS, TransCAD, and MicroStation; design tools AutoCAD.
