The Network Operations Specialist ensures and reports on the integrity of network availability and network performance. This position also coordinates maintenance and restoration activities.

Job responsibilities include:
- Using Network Operations standard operating, escalation, and notification procedures.
- Processing service orders for installs, disconnects, suspends, and changes to features and services on telephone and broadband.
- Auditing provisioned features, services, and configurations of network equipment.
- Responding to customer calls regarding service orders, trouble tickets, and general service information.
- Provisioning, testing, and troubleshooting customer facilities/services.
- Ensuring the integrity of network availability through 24-hour, real-time monitoring of all network elements and other associated alarm reporting equipment.
Job specifications and qualifications include:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge in voice and data networking architectures, switches, routers, and personal computers.
- Ability to problem-solve, manage several projects simultaneously, and perform work while dealing with interruptions.
- Ability to work varied shifts, as this position requires 24-hour coverage.
- Completion of high school studies and some college education with concentration in mathematics, computer science, information technology, and/or telecommunications.
- Certifications of Net+ and A+ or higher are preferred, or actively working to complete within 2 years.
- One to two years telecommunications or data networking industry experience would be beneficial.
- Completion of required training on switching, routing and packet capture.
