BLUvera Overview

BLUvera, Mortenson's vertically integrated self-perform manufacturing and prefabrication affiliate, utilizes advanced design, engineering, and 3D modeling to deliver and install prefabricated construction products on Mortenson projects. By utilizing DfMA principles (design for manufacturing and assembly), BLUvera leverages technology in the manufacture and fabrication of steel frame wall panels intended for load bearing and non-load bearing applications on our project sites. We continuously strive to enhance our offerings in prefabricated scopes of work that drive value for BLUvera and Mortenson as a whole.

The Big Picture:

BLUvera is looking for the ideal candidate to lead production at the construction products manufacturing and prefabrication plant. This will be a hands-on person who can lead by example and provide guidance and direction to team members for the production of various assemblies.

The Production Supervisor is accountable for accomplishing all plant objectives in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, and cost through efficient and effective operations of the production group. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will be the frontline day to day leader in the plant. Therefore, the successful candidate will have a combination of previous hands-on and leadership roles.

Responsible for leading the production at a rapidly growing construction products manufacturing and prefabrication plant.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Provide shift supervision and leadership for the assembly/manufacturing team members.
  • Lead production team members with an intense focus on safety and quality while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and internal company policies.
  • Motivate and mentors the production team to achieve production efficiencies.
  • Assist in the creation of production schedules and workflow management.
  • Develop work instructions and cross-training plans.
  • Provide on-the-job training and leads by example.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of plant KPIs (Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost)
  • Adjust schedules and workload balance as required by the operation.
  • Monitor supply inventory levels, coordinates with others when reordering is necessary.
  • Utilize lean methodologies and tools to accomplish production goals.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.

How Will You Be Successful?

  • Three (3) plus years' experience as a proven production leader in managing, motivating, and building a team.
  • Six (6) plus years' experience preferred in this industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully lead other team members.
  • Ability to build high performing teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a self-directed manner.
  • Experience with operational excellence tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S.
  • Proven problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. A technical degree is a plus.
