Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Lead Outreach Worker that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
Job Responsibilities:

- Provide lead poisoning outreach to the community, including: home assessment for lead risk; family education regarding lead poisoning risks and how to prevent exposure; finger-stick blood lead tests for children under age six and door-to-door canvassing to homes in the community to identify young children who have not been tested for lead poisoning.
- Provide education about lead abatement work and lead poisoning safety during renovation.
- Provide referral information and support to families regarding social services and community programs.
- Participate in environmental health community education programs, e.g. health fairs, education to child care programs, etc.
- Participate in data collection, record-keeping and data entry for assigned programs, may run routine reports as needed.
- Assume responsibility for specifically assigned office activities relative to Lead Project needs.
- Assist with other environmental health grant initiatives as needed.
- Perform related work as assigned by the Lead Outreach Supervisor.
- Enter data related to community outreach activity in program database and utilize various computer programs to access client data.
- Pull and prepare charts for home visit activity.
- Maintain general office organization.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in community-based agency, community health organization or related field.
- Ability to relate well to people of various ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Bilingual communication skills required (Spanish/English).
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience in data entry using Excel, Access or equivalent computer background.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, use of an automobile and current auto insurance.
- Ability to obtain SSCHC’s internal certification for to the administration of finger stick blood lead tests.
