Job Description

Our Reedsburg, WI office is now hiring for an Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician supports engineering project leaders by performing drafting and design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Other activities may include, construction site observations, surveying, and construction staking. This position activities may also include preparing construction plans and specifications and other related duties for a variety of municipal and private development projects including street design, sanitary collection, water distribution, grading, erosion control, and storm water management plans.

Main Responsibilities Include:
  1. Assists with preparing engineering plans for street, utility, and grading plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
  2. Perform construction observation to ensure that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable codes
  3. Prepare construction cost estimates
  4. Assists with evaluating pavement conditions and repairs including marking pavement removal and replacement in the field
  5. Perform field quantity measurements and calculations
We are looking for a candidate with a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, excellent judgement and problem solving skills, and someone who has the willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions. This position operates in a fast-paced environment, so having the ability to work in high-pressure situations with interruptions is critical.
