Job Description

Assist Flight Operations Management Team with the management of projects, programs, compliance, and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as an advisor to the Flight Operations Management team, and other local and international business unit leadership regarding projects and tasks;

  • Act as a technical point of contact on projects and programs, and may be tasked with communicating information to FAA management, the aviation and aerospace industries, and other external parties;

  • Flight Operations representative and point of contact for the international business unit;

  • Interfaces with customer base and government officials;

  • Maintain a working relationship with appropriate aviation organizations;

  • Models and promotes an organizational culture that fosters safety practices through effective leadership;

  • Monitors and as required provides training to business unit employees on safety and operational policies procedures, and regulations;

  • Acts as a member of teams that are: designing, developing, and implementing Safety Risk Management processes; analyzing accident, incident, and other safety data collected; and proposing and verifying new safety controls are effective at mitigating risk;

  • Conduct Flight Operations specific field base audits, inspections, investigations, and visits (some travel required);

  • Participate in internal and external audits as a stakeholder in Flight Operations;

  • Provides inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures;

  • Managing of internal and external audit findings, BeSafe reporting, and MoCs to closure;

  • Coordinates all HSE/ENV issues directly with Area and Base Managers;

  • Management of HAZMAT program;

  • Manage the participation in the Transport Safety Administration (TSA) 12-5 program;

  • Be an active member in all OPEMS and SAG review meetings;

  • Create long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines;

  • Delegating tasks on projects to employees best positioned to complete them;

  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project;

  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy;

  • Communicating with executives or customers to keep projects aligned with strategic goals and customer requirements;

  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected;

  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed and work with finance for cost tracking and budgeting;

  • Liaison with IT for Flight Operation systems;

  • Assist with testing and implementation of IT programs;

  • Managing information systems for Flight Operation use;

  • Research new technologies to increase efficiencies;

  • Review and develop operating policy changes when required to ensure organizational flexibility;

  • Writing department manuals and managing document control;

  • Gap Company manuals with Customer manuals and best practices (i.e., IOGP, BARS, etc.) to ensure compliance;

  • Be able to effectively use Operational Control for a part 135 operation when On-Call; and

  • Any other duties required by the Director of Operations.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;

  • Bachelor's degree in an Aviation or related field preferred;

  • Must have knowledge of 7 years' experience of related aviation operations (preferably rotor craft);

  • Strong background in TSA security requirements preferred;

  • Must have some experience in the following area's; Safety Management, System Safety, Quality Management, Quality Auditing, and Flight Operations;

  • Willingness to assist Managers, Directors, and staff at the highest level of professionalism;

  • Proven project management and analytical skills;

  • Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of the Company (e.g. training management, aircraft operations, air traffic management, aerodrome operations, and maintenance organization management;

  • Strong computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to read and interpret regulations and standards.

  • Must possess the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal (including diplomacy) and communication skills (both written and verbal) in working with other parties in person, by email, or other written correspondence;

  • Position requires demonstrated patience and be able to adapt due to an ever-changing environment;

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work (with little oversight) issues to closure.

  • Must be able to handle a variety of assignments and handle multiple tasks. This at time may include changing priorities and deadlines;

  • Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems and prioritize work. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner;

  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information to post holders to facilitate efficient resolutions to project plans;

  • Ability to start and finish projects with minimal supervision;

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks;

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with officers, managers, supervisors, fellow employees, representatives of other agencies, outside consultants and the public;

  • Must be able to travel based on operational needs;
