Big Picture:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of estimates for a wide range of project types and sizes. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels. Your problem-solving abilities, thoughtful approach, efficiency, and integrity will be vital to your success in this role.

Your organization, flexibility, extraordinary customer focus, problem-solving skills, and strong communication are essential in helping our customers find the right solutions for their construction projects:

Craft project estimates

• Complete quantity survey and pricing for all scopes of work individually or as part of a team depending on project size to ensure all work is included in each estimate
• Prepare trade partner strategy by working with the project team to ensure a cost-effective and comprehensive approach.
• Evaluate trade partner budgets and bids
• Prepare value engineering and project options studies to ensure the best value for our clients
• Perform historical cost data gathering

Participate as a project team member

• Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed
• Assist lead estimator with gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect projects (i.e. permits, wage requirements, etc.)
• Provide coaching and mentoring to new estimators as appropriate

• Minimum six year's construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations
• Current driver's license
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks
• Applicable mathematical skills
• Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth

Education:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
