HDR Engineering is looking for a Data Center (DC) Power Delivery Project Manager to join our growing local and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.

The primary duties of a DC PM include taking ownership of planning, scoping, and executing the Power Delivery engineering components of large data center and other mission critical facility projects and serving as the primary communication interface both internally to HDR teams and externally to the client.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish themselves as the primary point of contact for the Power Delivery components of projects, with a key focus on establishing and implementing a robust, responsive communication approach and relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Scope and proposal development, in Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) format, for data center substations interconnecting with electric utilities.
  • Project team development and assignment, including technical leads by discipline, coordinating across the company for staff from multiple offices.
  • Project management, including an understanding and application of basic project management tools and techniques, including project life cycle, client goals and objectives, contract terms and project risk, project scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, project planning, financial management and controls (including earned value), team management, change management, and project closeout.
  • Communication liaison between the technical execution team and the client, including attending project meetings, performing regular client check-ins, and other duties to ensure communication breakdowns do not occur.
  • Independently coordinates the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle.
  • Works independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Assistant PM's.
  • Represents HDR to support marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil/Structural Engineering, or similar combination of relevant education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering and/or project managing Power Delivery projects
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience
  • Basic technical knowledge of Power Delivery projects, including Substations, Transmission Lines, and/or Distribution systems preferred.
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • Excellent communication and strong client and project management skills are required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment when rapid response is expected
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and application in project delivery
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Position may require 25% or more travel at times

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) with active commitment to obtain P.E. preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain is desired.

The expected compensation range depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.

The expected compensation range for this position in California is $114,961.00.00 - $164,230.00 annually.

The expected compensation range for this position in Colorado is $114,961.00 - $164,230.00 annually.

The expected compensation range for this position in Washington is $109,736.00 - $171,695.00 annually.
