Project Manager - Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid Schedule)

Benesch is seeking to hire a Project Manager who is an experienced Railroad professional. As a Project Manager, you will manage all phases of phase 1 and 2 design projects, resource planning, assisting in business development, client engagement, and proposal preparation. If you possess a strong technical design background and have the desire to lead design teams while client-interfacing, this role may be the perfect fit for you!

This position can be based in our Omaha, NE, Raleigh/Cary, NC, Charlotte, NC, Milwaukee, WI, or Naperville, IL, offices. This position can be remote based on experience.

The Impact You Will Have:
  • You will lead and manage rail projects from planning through design into construction
  • You will develop project scope, budget, schedule, and lead client contract negotiations
  • You will work with and guide technical engineering staff ranging from junior to senior level.
  • You will assist and execute technical tasks, including developing technical reports, designs, specifications, and project-related presentations.
  • You work closely with other project managers and group leads within the Rail Division to plan resources and manage internal workshare.
  • You will assist and lead in developing client capture plans and pursuing win plans, proposals, and other business development and client engagement activities.
  • You will meet with the client and public stakeholders and perform site visits in the field as necessary
What We Are Looking For:
  • You have at least 8 years of civil engineering design experience for railroad projects
  • You have a B.S. in Civil Engineering degree or related required
  • You are a licensed P.E
  • You have experience using MicroStation and Inroads, and preferably with OpenRoads Designer.
  • You are knowledgeable in other related project elements a plus, such as Big Data Processing, GIS/ERSI, Drainage Design, Stormwater Permitting, and/or Site Utility (Sewer, Water, Natural Gas, etc.) Design
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You enjoy networking and working closely with clients and stakeholders outside of technical engineering teams.
  • You have the desire to work on large multi-disciplinary rail projects that require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
  • You are willing to occasionally travel out-of-town to meet project demands
