Position Summary

Albemarle Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to support the Kings Mountain, NC site. The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the efforts maintenance, operations, and contract labor to complete maintenance activities both safely and cost effectively. This role will be responsible managing maintenance planning and will need to assist in planning as necessary. This role will monitor for the safe and cost-effective execution of routine and turnaround maintenance work. This role will also provide mentorship to others on the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efforts of Maintenance, Operations, and Contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.

  • Manage maintenance planning and assist in planning as necessary

  • Manage the planned work order backlog:

    • Monitor schedule of preventative maintenance plans

    • Review backlog and planning list

    • Optimize schedule by grouping work orders to improve uptime.

    • Coordinate job plans to meet the timing requirements of production.

    • Audit work orders for clear documentation of required skill crafts, duration, specialty tools and necessary equipment.

    • Build the job plan library, including ensuring accurate plans exist for high-frequency jobs.

    • Continually update job plans to ensure necessary changes or improvements are incorporated, and efficiencies are captured.

    • Other duties may be assigned

Safety-related Responsibilitiies

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

  • Document mishaps as necessary

  • Assist with safe work permit audits

Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Combined experience of 10 years in or supervising a mechanical craft (pipefitter, welder, millwright, boilermaker, etc.) and/or mechanical craft field planning/Turnaround planning position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be self-directed; able to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a timely manner

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Works well with all employees at all levels of the organization; team oriented

  • Decisive and able to make informed decisions that align with regulatory requirements and company policies
