Job Description:

Microchip has an opportunity for aManager-Production Section (Production Functional Area Section Manager)at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This position will be the principal point of contact and manager for Functional Area productivity and development. The schedule for this position will be 4 ten-hour days. The Production Section Manager will be required to flex their schedule as necessary to meet with pertinent employees on CWW shifts.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with Production Leads, Supervisors, Managers and other departments to drive systems improvements.

  • Evaluate Production productivity activities and make recommendations for systems improvements.

  • Implement solutions to remove systemic barriers to the needs of the Production Specialists.

  • Project Management

    • Plan, execute and document project problem statement, options, methods and results.

    • Effectively gather input from end users.

    • Clear and effective communication to all stakeholders.

  • Fab Performance Improvement

    • Gather and validate data from various systems, both physical and electronic.

    • Use statistical methods to analyze and validate studies.

    • Validate system performance goal vs. actual.

    • Drive teams to improve system performance.

    • Analysis of wafer fab workflow, cycle time and bottlenecks.

    • Analysis and optimization of tool configurations, material movement, and workflow management methodologies including documentation of best practices.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline (Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, etc.)
    A combination of relevant professional training and experience will also be considered.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Competent in Excel and Visual Basic macros.

  • Excellent analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent organization, documentation and writing skills.

  • Strong customer service, listening, and communication skills

  • Able to contribute as a reliable and effective team member.

  • A strong desire for personal continuous improvement and learning.

  • A successful candidate must be creative, self-directed, self-motivated and work in a highly team-oriented environment with little or no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Semiconductor Wafer Fab Data Analysis, Reporting and Performance Improvement.

  • Project Management experience.

Able to lift, push, pull approx. 20 lbs; carry 15 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust or gases.

This is a Safety Sensitive position.
