Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Planning Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Work closely with your supervisor and project managers to deliver a variety of transportation planning projects
  • Collect, assimilate project-related data under general supervision for transportation projects
  • Conduct technical analysis including but not limited to functional planning/design, multi-modal level of service analysis, geospatial analysis, and general data analysis
  • Develop graphical interpretation of complex data analyses using tools such as ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and/or In-Design, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and participation of public information meetings and hearings.
  • Within a dynamic, team-focused environment, demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, collaborate, problem solve, innovate, and perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program

* Attention to detail a must

* Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

* Pursuing a degree in Planning, GIS, Geography, or closely related field

* Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

* Experience in GIS software, geospatial analysis, and graphical interpretation of complex data into materials for public consumption

* Self-starter with great analytical, organizational, writing, and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* May require the ability to travel locally

Preferred Qualifications

* Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA

* Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
