CLA is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join our Talent Solutions team.

The Human Resources Consultant serves as a resource for areas including compliance, labor & employment law, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and performance management. This role will provide guidance and recommendations to external clients on HR related disciplines and advise on best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Employment Practices...

  • Conduct HR assessments for clients and recommend solutions.
  • Provide guidance to clients on applicable HR labor & employment laws.
  • Assist in employee relations topics and provide advice on how to resolve.
  • Create and update company handbooks, policies, and hiring & termination practices.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations to ensure appropriate guidance of the policies, procedures and actions needed for compliance.

Client Relationship Management...

  • Build relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor.
  • Deliver HR projects at client's request.
  • Partner with other CLA Professionals to develop and drive HR programs and services for external clients. Gives presentations regarding HR services offered internally and externally.
  • Evaluate client needs and takes advantage of the opportunity.

Talent Management...

  • Create and update job descriptions and performance management programs.
  • Develop & conduct HR related training for client.
  • Advise and develop recruiting and retention strategies.
  • Provide guidance on sensitive employee matters/conduct investigations.

Business Acumen...

  • Understand the goals and strategy of client (businesses).
  • Represent CLA in a positive and professional way.

Outsourcing HR Clients...

  • Expected to be a SME to bring to new organization.
  • HRIS Implementation, Compensation, Equal Pay, HR Assessments, and HR best practices.
  • Talk to clients to understand business needs - look to evaluate culture, compensation, related to their people programs.

Project Lead...

  • Conduct HR special projects, including: HRIS implementation, M&A projects, equal pay assessments, speaking engagements [educate CLA on HR services (internal); HR related topics at conferences (external).] as Subject Matter Expert on variety of topics.
  • Facilitate conversations with clients to guide them through a process and create a roadmap to achieve goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 7 years or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP required.
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance related to general employment laws including wage and hour, federal, and state rights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn HRIS and other technology as needed.

Compensation Strategy

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range.

For California the posting range for this role is $98,000 - $164,000
