We are seeking strong qualified candidates for our Desert Area Leader position. The Desert Area Leader is one of 15 Operational Leaders that run Brown and Caldwell's Municipal Business Operations, Sales, and leadership of our top talent.

Detailed Description:

This role is critical to our success and is entrusted to grow our business, deliver high quality solutions and services and lead talent and change management in a way that continues to set us apart as the best place to work in our industry.

The Desert Area encompasses offices in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas and Reno, and all associated staff and municipal/utility clients served from those locations. The Desert Area is one of four areas in Brown and Caldwell's California-Desert Business Unit, which also includes the Southern California, Central Valley-Tahoe and Bay Areas.

Responsibilities

The most critical responsibility the Area Leader is to drive sustained, profitable growth both internally and externally. This happens by delivering the "BC Experience" in a way that exceeds expectations for our clients and employees. The Area Leader is successful when they engage their team to:

  • Grow Our Business by ensuring current clients view BC as the company of choice while also implementing strategies to gain new clients and business.
  • Deliver Service Excellence by providing high quality and innovative solutions on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrate Sound Financial and Operational Acumen by managing the geographical staffing and business portfolio and overhead expenditures, ensuring investments are made wisely, and leveraging enterprise resources and support groups to drive both Area and company profitability.
  • Act as a Change Agent by leading change management in a thoughtful, balanced way ensuring communication is at the forefront.
  • Optimize Organizational Health by hiring, developing, retaining, engaging and allocating talent in a way that ensures we deliver the "BC Experience" and continue to be the best place for employees to work in our industry.

Job Expectations

The Area Leader is expected to demonstrate excellence in leadership, the delivery of high quality work product, strong financial performance and sustained growth of our client base. This is a leadership role that requires critical thinking and decision making in a high velocity environment, strong business acumen, extraordinary talent management ability and sound, ethical character and executive presence.

The Area Leader will:

  • Understand the market and grow it in alignment with the company's core strategic goals and imperatives, standards, operational model and values.
  • Leverage the Enterprise Model and teams to deliver projects and outcomes that make both the local region and broader company successful.
  • Contribute to the success of the Cal-Desert Business Unit by acting as a key member of the Business Unit Leadership Team.
  • Build and sustain strong, deep and sincere relationships with clients - ensuring they continue to make BC their company of choice.
  • Communicate change and business decisions confidently, clearly and frequently - with strong self and social awareness - ensuring the proper context is set for employees to understand what needs to be done, when it needs to be done by, how it needs to be done and most importantly...."why" it's important.
  • Drive accountability and performance while demonstrating the wherewithal to make tough decisions about performance gaps.
  • Operate with passion and optimism by inspiring others, chasing after continuous improvement and innovation, demonstrating good judgement, ethical decision making, and delivering high-impact results.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field is required.
  • Professional registration is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in the environmental services and consulting industry is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate financial acumen including P&L responsibility.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience managing a large portfolio of projects with a substantial impact on the business.
  • Ability to lead a large portfolio of clients and pursuits
  • Ability to demonstrate experience managing successfully within a matrixed/enterprise business model.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience managing at the executive level (must have led and developed other leaders).
  • Ability to lead a team, mentor staff as well as recruit top talent
  • B.A. or similar coursework preferred.

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $175,000 - 262,000

Location B: $193,000 - 288,000

Location C: $210,000 - 314,000
