ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Fieldwork such as site inspections, water, wastewater, and soil sampling, treatment/remediation system design, drilling and contractor oversight, construction support services, and operations and maintenance;
  • Water, wastewater, and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, scheduling, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate and transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, testing, and monitoring support;
  • Environmental regulatory compliance services and permitting;
  • Data analysis and management, including databases, preparing drawings, maps, tables, and figures;
  • Development of innovative technologies or solutions applicable to environmental assessment, remediation, water/wastewater treatment or related fields; and
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, journal publications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 20%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering. (preferred)
  • Engineer in training certification. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one year of prior experience either as an intern in consulting and/or research experience (including laboratory work) for a college degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering. (preferred)
  • Prior professional experience and/or research experience in water/wastewater treatment process technologies and/or environmental compliance/permitting associated with water/wastewater. (preferred)
  • Prior experience with specialized process engineering softwares such as InfoWater, BioWin, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD and/or AutoCAD. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $64,820 / Maximum Salary: $81,025 (Costa Mesa)
