Brown and Caldwell (BC) is seeking a Reuse Process Engineering National Specialty Lead (NSL) with water reuse planning, biological, physical/chemical and advanced treatment knowledge and experience to evaluate, plan, and design water/wastewater/reuse treatment infrastructure. In this role, you will also be responsible for driving market growth, developing talent and strengthening the specialty area nationally to deliver high quality solutions that drive our technical differentiation from that of our competitors. Detailed Description

  • Create a vision and priorities for specialty area in alignment with and to inform national practice strategy.
  • Ensure the collective knowledge of specialty is technically rigorous, effectively documented, regularly updated, and disseminated across the company.
  • As member of national practice leadership team, work closely with Reuse National Practice Leader (NPL) and other NSLs to advance the practice strategy nationally and working with regional and area practice leads to promote technical differentiation.
  • Support development and application of innovative solutions, including strategic research and development efforts and engagement with the National Technical/Innovation Leader (NTIL) in the practice.
  • Engage in active communication and collaboration within the specialty while maintaining oversight and guidance as an active leader
  • Oversee prioritization and development of national technical standards (guidelines, best practices, tools, content), governance, and consistent usage by practice members for efficient, high-quality execution of specialty elements.
  • On strategic and complex projects, engage directly with delivery team throughout project life cycle, including early concept development, solution selection, project design, execution, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure relevant Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) engage effectively with project teams to applyconsistenttechnical approaches,risk management,and quality delivery.
  • Manage and execute water treatment and reuse projects, including process selection and design.
  • Develop and prepare process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, models, and other technical deliverables for drinking water, reuse, wastewater and advanced treatment projects.
  • Serve as technical lead on water treatment, water reuse and advanced treatment projects.
  • Lead project teams in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies.
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas (water treatment, reuse and wastewater design, storage, and delivery systems), make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Coordinate, advise and conduct pilot testing of equipment.
  • Develop test protocols, acceptance test plans, validation plans and oversee or conduct testing, provide QA/QC.
  • Read, summarize and prepare technical reports regarding water quality.
  • Read, summarize and prepare reports on drinking water or reuse regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate treatment approaches for water quality parameters, including constituents of emerging concern.
  • Analyze data including water quality and plant operations information.
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
  • Direct the work of drafters and designers and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Delegate and oversee the work of subordinate technical staff and engineers.
  • Assist with and lead business development pursuits.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.) required; M.S. degree with a focus on water preferred
  • PE License preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in potable water system engineering / consulting including familiarity with the following: master planning, process selection, modeling, water treatment plant / advanced treatment planning or design
  • Experience with full-scale or pilot plants with unit processes such as membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, UVAOP and conventional drinking water treatment processes preferred
  • Strong project management, design management, or project engineer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports
  • Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of standard software including MS Office and Outlook
  • Active participation in local professional organizations

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $100,000 - $137,000

Location B: $110,000 - $150,000

Location C: $120,000 - $164,000
