The Opportunity:

The Assistant Director will help plan and implement multi-channel annual marketing campaigns for all of Embry-Riddle's annual giving programs. These campaigns will include all or some of the following channels: email, direct mail, phone, crowdfunding, giving days, social media, and digital advertising. They will ensure best practices are developed and deployed while also ensuring that marketing efforts test new and existing strategies. The assistant director will also work with the Senior Director of Annual Giving to ensure all campaigns are tracked, analyzed, and learning outcomes are recorded and communicated to the broader Philanthropy division.

They will also be integral to the development and deployment of strategies that seek to unite our direct marketing and digital solicitation eco-system. They will work cross-functionally on projects aimed at providing a seamless experience between our digital and direct solicitation programs.

The assistant director will also participate in Embry-Riddle's Philanthropy and Alumni events and programming as needed or appropriate. He/she/they will take on additional projects as appropriate and needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; in lieu of degree, five years of fundraising experience would be acceptable
  • At least two years of experience working in philanthropy or fundraising
  • Proper business correspondence
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) and scheduling tools (Buffer or similar)
  • Understanding of digital publishing technical specifications (image resolutions, formats)
  • Proficiency with image editing tools (Photoshop, Illustrator or similar)
  • Proficiency in Crowdfunding tools (Scalefunder, GiveCampus) is strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of HTML as used in mobile-friendly email marketing
  • Business and professional etiquette
  • Understanding of development and alumni relations best practices is preferred
  • Basic understanding of research
