The Opportunity

Sr Storage & Backup Architect / Administrator

Job Responsibilities:

This role will be critical to our mission by being responsible for establishing enterprise storage and backup infrastructure vision, technical strategy at enterprise level. This will be a hands-on role, where the Sr. Storage & Backup Architect will design, architect, deploy and manage enterprise level storage and backup infrastructure solutions.

  • You will be joining the existing team and support in operations and projects
  • Deploy and administer enterprise-class storage, backup platforms, primarily NetApp, pure, Commvault and Rubrik, etc.)
  • Deploy and manage storage, backup solutions in major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Perform storage consolidations and migrations across heterogeneous storage, backup systems and cloud.
  • Responsible for data protection, storage efficiency solutions (example: snapshots, snapmirror, snap restore, snap vault, Dedup, and flexclone) to support data retention requirements.
  • Deploy and manage enterprise monitoring solutions for storage and backup systems using tools such as Oncommand Unified manager, Grafana, Prometheus ..etc.
  • Design and drive automation initiatives using some of the popular solutions such as Ansible, terraform, Cloud Formation, Python, PowerShell, UNIX/Linux shell, Perl and Jenkins .etc.
  • Strategic project support: The ability to "jump in" and help during a major systems project to ensure its success is a key capability.
  • Problem solving: Problems will sometimes be complex or unique - the EA leader must be able to evaluate and solve them; Big Picture thinking: Must be able to look at a problem or situation from multiple angles, avoid tunnel vision, and explain them clearly.
  • Basic Administration of Linux, Windows and VMware systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Arts or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience.
Master's degree and/or PhD in Business, Science, Arts or related fields with 5-10 years of experience.

10 years of hands-on administration experience in enterprise storage and backup infrastructure (i.e. NetApp, Pure, Commvault, Rubrik, etc.).
5 years of Linux/UNIX, automation and VMware administration experience
3 years of Cloud infrastructure administration experience
